A Friendlier Poker Face

Tuesday, January 23rd, 2007

So, while I’m not training for Kilimanjaro & Everest - and in the downtime until the Road Race Series starts - there’s another big Adventure to prep for! The World Series of Poker main events begin in June, so it’s high-time to get the cards shuffling and work on my poker face.

As a prelude to the real thing, on February 10th local Kings and Queens of the game will match wits with poker pro’s and even some celebrities (Last year Jennifer Tilly was there!) in a for-charity Texas Hold’em Poker Tournament.

I’m a platinum sponsor of the event, which is put on by the Golden State Foods Foundation, and all proceeds will be distributed through GSF to charities like the Ronald Mcdonald House. I’m bringing all my buds, and I urge you to do the same!

To the Sound of Roaring Engines

Monday, January 22nd, 2007

My mind moves a mile a minute - the only moments to truly let it rest are those when I don’t have any time at all.

I’m incredibly excited to begin my 2007 series of adventures at the helm of a GT1 Panoz GTS and my Z06, where I can let my brain chill out at 170 mph.

The Sports Car Club of America’s Road Race Series begins in March, and I’m sponsoring the Oregon Region’s season this year. Their goal (SCCA) is driver and worker membership in the region - but out on the black-top, the prize is the Rose Cup. This year, we’re 100% official and “tricked-out” with Pro Drive’s Todd Harris, Fluge Global Adventures shirts, decals, a website, passion as hot a race bred engine and a roadmap to adventure that leads to places where the roads don’t go.

I’m pumped about winning some races, but if we don’t get the cup, I’ll settle for not scratching the paint!!!
