Climb the Rock of the Acropolis in Athens to the Parthenon to find true inspiration and global understanding.
To truly benefit and become enlightened about the world of today we must immerse ourselves in and understand all aspects of history and culture.
Ancient Greece is a period in Greek history that lasted for around three thousand years. It is generally considered to be the seminal culture which provided the foundation of Western Civilization. Greek culture had a powerful influence on the Roman Empire, which carried a version of it to many parts of Europe.
The civilization of the ancient Greeks has been immensely influential on the language, politics, educational systems, philosophy, science, and arts, giving rise to the Renaissance in Western Europe and again resurgent during various neo-Classical revivals in 18th and 19th century Europe and the Americas.

For Fluge the adventure is never limited to just the physical journey and arrival at the destination, there is also an intellectual path. The Parthenon serves up inspiration in buckets, and as Fluge climbs to the top in the footsteps of Ancient Greek Rulers and Kings he might ponder his own next moves or his quest for Global Adventures…
The wealth of Athens attracted talented people from all over Greece, and also created a wealthy leisure class who became patrons of the arts. The Athenian state also sponsored learning and the arts, particularly architecture. Athens became the centre of Greek literature, philosophy and the arts.

Some of the greatest figures of Western cultural and intellectual history lived in Athens during this period: the dramatists Aeschylus, Aristophanes, Euripides, and Sophocles, the philosophers Aristotle, Plato, and Socrates, the historians Herodotus, Thucydides, and Xenophon, the poet Simonides and the sculptor Pheidias.
Fluge would have been right at home in a toga discussing politics and philosophy with these guys.

Great idea - climbing to the ancient home and arena of the philosophers Aristotle, Plato, and Socrates, the historians Herodotus, Thucydides, and Xenophon, the poet Simonides and the sculptor Pheidias goes beyond adventure to the very heart and spirit of man’s quest for knowledge and meaning to life.
