Fluge Wraps Up SCCA Racing Year with Victories

With the WSOP Main Event, the Cannonball Run, Mt. Kilimanjaro and Everest ahead, Nick Fluge completed his last road race of 2007 on July 1st with dual victories in both the sprint and main races of Group H and Class ITE.

The strong support and mentorship of Todd Harris (ProDrive), Motorsports Ambassador to the Fluge Adventure effort and the tremendous Crew Chief work by Steve Gatrell of ProFab led to Fluge’s 2007 successes.

A Novice in 2006 his license was upgraded this spring with a series of finishes that included no concrete wall crashes or black flags.  Fluge comes away with nothing less than 5 sprint and main race victories, the prestigious Festival Cup, and now holds 3 track records in his group and class (chicane and non-chicane).

Finally even though one race remains (which Fluge cannot attend due to his time on Kili in August), he has already secured enough points to win the SCCA Group H, Class ITE Championship to be awarded in November.

Stay tuned for an exciting July.

Fluge visits the Main Event of the WSOP next weekend, The Cannonball Run at the end of the month, and continuing strenuous physical training for Kilimanjaro 6 days a week.

Probably most fulfilling for the FGA team over the weekend, however was partnering with the Oregon Region SCCA Rally folks to help support the “Fluge Global Adventures Rally Against Parkinsons Disease”.

The large Rally event raised funds for Parkinson’s Resources of Oregon. The funds go to provide help and hope to
Parkinson’s victims and their families in Oregon and southern Washington. For more information visit http://www.parkinsonsresources.org/
