Nick Fluge and Bill Lowblad driving the FGA Saleen “Bad Boy” Mustang and the Perlinger sisters in the FGA Bentley GT, began the Great American Run week by arriving in New York, dealing with Paparazzi, and even attending  a GAR party at one of the city’s hottest night clubs; Cain on Friday.  They were accompanied by none other than event organizer Tim Porter and a few hundred other Socialites, Celebrities, and Motorheads.

The Rally began late on Saturday (to give the teams adequate recovery) from Friday nights’ events.  All cars left Central Parks’ famous Tavern on the Green at 6pm.

The first leg of the rally took the contestants through the beautiful but treacherous winding roads of the Poconos.  It continued through Pennsylvania, Ohio and concluded in Indianapolis.

The average driving time was about 17 hours - that left few opportunities for breaks especially given the departure from Manhatten.  Both the FGA cars finished in just over 15 hours however and stand amongst the leaders at the end of the first leg.

The journey continues with stops in Tulsa, Denver, Las Vegas and Los Angeles.  Stay tuned…
