FGA ENTERS DANSKIN WOMEN’S SPRINT TRIATHLON
Posted by: Fluge Support on May 5th, 2008At FGA, we call it the “Duel on Water, Land and Bike”. 2008 sponsor Danskin calls it the Women’s Sprint Triathlon. However you slice it, Team FGA will have two strong competitors in the swim, run, and biking event challenging the best in women’s sports. We consider them the best of the best.
Team FGA Northwest features Yelena King, (trainer to the stars – as well as Fluge)! She hopes to make a big splash in this late summer event. In 2007 she climbed both Kilimanjaro and the Himalayas (Everest Base Camp) –all the while keeping Fluge alive and moving towards the summit. In between acting as FGA’s official Shelby model and Fitness expert, she spends her free time motivating and driving Fluge toward unthinkable levels of extreme physical fitness. Armed with nothing more than a BOSU ball, hand-weights, and a watchful eye, Yelena urges the team to push themselves beyond their physical and psychological limits in hopes of achieving ultimate success outside the gym (i.e. Nick and Troy’s 2008 “Duel at Death Valley”). In August, she hopes to make FGA Northwest proud.

Team FGA Southwest is led by Ashley Perlinger, (Lamborghini spokes-model and Austin, Texas, social circuit leader). In 2007, along with sister, Aimee, she formed half of the “Bentley Girls” (Team FGA) in the Cannonball Run, cruising by Fluge and Lowblad just after leaving Central Park (New York) in their 3000 mile ultimate journey to Los Angeles. Since then, Ashley was featured as the “Lamborghini Spokes-model” in the early year auto show circuit and followed in February with a strong finish in the highly touted 2008 Austin, Texas, marathon. Since her move to Austin this last year, Ashley regularly runs the trails of Town Lake in Austin and expects to do well in this summer’s Danskin Triathlon.

Danskin’s 19th Annual Women’s Sprint Triathlon begins Sunday, August 17, in Seattle. (Let’s hope the sharks and sea lions are not in the Sound during their swim)!
Both King and Perlinger are in training and soon expect to secure expert trainers to help them in their quest: to capture and unify the “Water, Land and Bike FGA championship title.” A winner take all purse goes to only one – who will it be? Join Nick and members of the FGA team in Seattle as they watch the event with great interest (and a few side bets).
