Fluge Global Supporting Youth Destination ImagiNation Global

Tuesday, May 25th, 2010

Fluge Global Adventures will be represented by a team of 5th graders from Oregon at the Destination ImagiNation Global Finals! What is Destination ImagiNation? DI is an organization created in collaboration with the world-renowned Center for Creative Learning to provide educational programs for students to learn and experience creativity, teamwork, and problem solving.

Every year over 100,000 students across the United States and in more than 30 countries compete in teams to solve mind-bending challenges and present their solutions at tournaments. Teams are tested to think on their feet, work together, and devise original solutions for the challenges they are presented. The teams learn to unleash their imaginations and take unique approaches to problem solving. Teams that advance past regional and state/country tournaments are invited to compete at the Global Finals.

Oregon’s “5 Musketeers” are the 2009 Oregon State Destination ImagiNation Champions. They have competed at regional and state tournaments over the past two years with much success. They will be traveling to the University of Tennessee on Memorial Day Weekend to challenge hundreds of teams from all over the world in the culminating event of the season, the Global Finals. The atmosphere will be electric as they battle wits against many of the worlds future leaders. Maybe the world’s next Nick Fluge will even be there!

An Evening Celebrating the Convergence of American Pin-Up Art, Bourbon, and Automotive Innovation

Fluge Global Adventures often moves in unique circles, from the Snows of Kilimanjaro and Everest to the Wheels of Road Bikes and Stationary Bikes, and from Gumball Rallies to Writing Contests. With this said, trying to explain a convergence of Beauties, Bourbons, and Racing is a little difficult even for FGA. The good news is that it worked! The Gallery was crowded with hundreds of FGA team members, friends, art patrons, bourbon imbibers, racers and simple wanderers looking for a place to call their home for a Friday night.

After tasting some of the finest Bourbons made in America and Appalachian and Low Country foods made by the famed Besaw’s restaurant, guests seemed to find the art relatively inviting and even more so once they got the FGA ‘schwag’ bag and voted for their favorite next Pin-Up model. The newest FGA race car; Tarzan, even looked pretty good considering it sat without either engine or transmission (amazing what can be achieved through art)!

Nick begins his journey towards the famed Rose Cup Championships in June. This will be the 50th Anniversary of the largest race west of the Mississippi. A question remains, will Nick’s success be found in racing, beauties or Bourbon?
